Good design takes time. As sustainable designers we aim to ensure that proposed development meets the needs of today without compromising future potential. To achieve this we run through a wide variety of possibilities, to ensure the best possible use of a space, before putting plans on the drawing board.
Just as every design is a unique response to the setting and user needs, so too the design process varies according to the needs of the client. We offer a fully bespoke service, from 'hand-holding' to a full design, construct and manage programme.
In general, you can expect us to work with you through the following stages:
Step 1. We meet to discuss your requirements in detail, inspect the site and undertake a preliminary analysis. This is generally written up as a development report or master plan. An understanding of how a place works, what makes it special and the
opportunities it offers is critical to developing a master plan. - The master plan sets the design of a particular space within a context.
Step 2. We co-ordinate the consultation process ensuring all stake holders have a say in the eventual design. Later vandalism is minimised by involving all members of the community from the outset.
Step 3. We develop the Concept Plan, showing how the area could be developed. This is presented to you for your comments and feedback. Major changes are incorporated into a revised Concept or minor refinements go to inform the next stage.
Step 4. The Outline Plan is a scaled drawing showing the location and details of all design elements.
Step 5. Project management of the construction process ensures everything goes according to plan.
